SPARKLING / CHAMPANGE

Jean Ginglinger, Cremant D’Alsace 2004 (Organic) - €17.14 + VAT
That’s no classic to get a good organic sparkling wine; well the Cremant D’Alsace of Mr Ginglinger is soft, light and dry.

Champagne Bouzy Grand Cru, H.Beaufort - €28.00 + VAT
A Grand Cru Champagne is politically incorrect !!

WHITE WINE

Hand it to the French, they have the best wine!

Domaine Lalaurie, vin de pays d’Oc 2008, South of France - €7.42 + VAT
A very good approach for an easy drinking wine; it will be a good match for all your light Christmas dishes and your parties.

Domaine des 3 Noyers, Reverdy Cadet, Sancerre 2007/8, Loire - €15.23+VAT
Reverdy is one of the most wine reputated families in Sancerre. Many generations of Sancerre paid!!

Domaine des Remparts, Bourgogne Aligoté 2006, Burgundy - €10.93+VAT
Difficult to get a good quality price Chardonnay from the Burgundy region – Domaine des Remparts is one of them. Very well matured, creamy, long length and fresh – the keys of the “reussite”.

Domaine du Colombier, Chablis 2006/7 - €14.38+VAT
This is one of the most popular French Appellations. This is also one of biggest differences between Chablis from a supermarket and an real authentic Chablis from an independent wine merchant. Compare and you will understand.

Jose Marteau, Chardonnay, Touraine 2006 - €9.50+VAT
If you don't like a very dry white wine then this is your wine - a fresh wine with a zest of natural sugar in the finish

RED WINE

France:

Merlot, Vin de pays d’Oc 2007 - €8.80+VAT
A very good approach for an easy drinking wine; it will be a good match for all your light Christmas dishes and your parties.

Domaine de la Merlatiere 2007, Beaujolais Village 2007 - €9.50+VAT
An excellent quality Beaujolais Villages; pleasantly balanced (not too heavy, not too light), nicely fruity (typical Gamay grape) and juicy – can be served a little chilled.

Château Haut Picat 2006, Bordeaux - €10.60+VAT
If you like Bordeaux wines but you had enough of the heavy / oaky Bordeaux, you have to taste the following wine – Merlot grape, smooth but elegant and the wine keeps its originality.

Château Maine Raynaud 2004/5, St Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux- €19.26+VAT
To start: Chantal Seguillon is the winemaker! She brought Chateau Maine Raynaud to the top of the rankings of St Emilion Grand Cru. Full bodied wine but very smooth and elegant (a feminine touch in Saint Emilion) – great wine.

La Bastide St Vincent, Vin du Vaucluse 2006 - €9.20+VAT
A medium to full bodied, pure style and smooth. Taste it and you will definitely approve of it.

La Bastide St Vincent, Gigondas, Costeville 2004 - €20.00+VAT
You must treat yourself with one or two bottles of this wine – Gigondas from La Bastide Saint Vincent. The color of the wine is nearly black, full bodied, powerful and fruity. (Must be decanted 45 minutes before serving). This wine will drop the top Bordeaux to second class wines!! (Hurry! Limited Quantity available)

Jose Marteau, Malbec (Cot), Loire Valley - €9.50+VAT
One of my favorite from Mr Marteau – medium bodied, low alcohol and a spicy finish.

Jose Marteau, Pinot Noir, Loire Valley - €9.50+VAT
No surprise – the Pinot Noir from Mr Marteau is great. Light but very well balanced between the fruits, alcohol, bodied and freshness. An excellent option for people who don’t like heavy red.

Jean François Roy, Merlot, Loire Valley - €10.00+VAT
Jean Francois Roy is a young winemaker from Valencay – Young but talented. His merlot is dryer than the merlot you would find in the South of France. (more appropriate for food)

Spain :

Nekeas, 80% Tempranillo and Merlot, Navarra - €7.76+VAT
Forget Rioja region – think Navarra! Same grapes, same soils, same quality wine makers but cheaper than Rioja region. No hesitation to take it.

Italy :

Fatoria Di Rodano, Chianti Classico 2003 - €13.74+VAT
I love Chianti Classico (not rufina) and since I discovered it a few years ago Fatoria Di Rodano I have changed to another one. The Italian charms of Sangiovese grape...
